MICROSOFT POWER POINT READER
Microsoft Power Point Files are
used on

website. If you do not have Microsoft Power Point (part of "Microsoft
Office") a "Read Only" version can be obtained by clicking the
Microsoft Power Point Logo
above to download a FREE copy of the 2007 Microsoft Power Point Reader.
When you click the DOWNLOAD symbol in the Microsoft Page, Power Point Reader
will be downloaded to a folder on your computer. Write down the name of the
folder or alternatively change the folder to the one you want. Follow the
on-screen prompts. When Power Point is downloaded go to the folder where it
was downloaded and double click the file name.
Power Point Reader will be installed - again, follow the prompts.
The Reader is 26 MB which is reasonably fast for DSL broadband download but
is extremely slow for dial up. (1 and a half hours)
 GET
JAVA RUN-TIME MACHINE
Java is used on
THIS
website and requires the Java Run-Time Machine to display the information.
If, when visiting any page on this or other web sites, a message is
displayed which in effect says: "Cannot
run no Java ........ installed"
you can download a FREE copy of the JAVA RUN-TIME MACHINE by clicking on the Java logo
above.
Even if Java is already installed it will not cause any damage but rather
confirm that it is present on your PC.
Before downloading the JAVA program you will be given the option of "RUN"
or "SAVE".
Select RUN
then follow the screen prompts.
 GET
MICROSOFT WORD READER-VIEWER 2003
Microsoft WORD files
are used on THIS
website. If you do not have Microsoft WORD (part of Microsoft Office
Suite) you can download a Microsoft WORD Reader (Viewer 2003) by clicking
the "W"
logo above. The Reader/Viewer will allow you to Read and Print Microsoft
Word files but not to edit or create them. Click the Logo above and then the
"Download" button in the Microsoft Web page. Follow the prompts. Helpful
information appears on this Microsoft page.
 GET
ADOBE FLASH PLAYER
Whilst "Adobe Flash"
files are NOT currently used in the Care Group web site they are used
throughout the internet. They are mostly displays having movement and
sometimes very complex action. Many of these types of files are generated
using Adobe Flash techniques and are highly suitable for the internet. For
the files to "Play", Adobe Flash Player must be installed.
To Install a FREE copy of "Adobe Flash Player" click on the icon above and
then click on the "Download Now" button and follow the prompts.
The Player is about 1.5 MB.
 GET
ADOBE SHOCKWAVE PLAYER
Whilst "Adobe Shock" files are
NOT currently used in the Care Group web site they are used throughout the
internet.
To Install a FREE copy of "Adobe Shock Player" click on the icon above and
then click on the "Download
Shockwave Player Now"
line and follow the prompts.
Adobe Shock Player Files are animated 3D and very special in content. You
can view sample Shock Wave animation in the Download section of the Adobe
Page.
NOTE:
Adobe Reader,
Microsoft Power Point Reader and Microsoft Word viewer are programs which appear in the "Program" list
under the "Start" button. They can be initiated by the operator independent
from the browser.
Java Run-Time Machine, Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave Player become
a part of the Internet Browser when they are installed. They do not appear
in the list of Programs but Java Runtime Machine appears in the Control
panel. These three programs detect and interpret the code which is written
for the respective 'players' and display the result without operator
assistance. They make the Internet Explorer Browser a much more interesting
place.
ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:
1. ADOBE READER
2. JAVA RUN-TIME MACHINE
Note: Most users have Microsoft Office installed on their PCs which would
account for Microsoft WORD and Power Point Presentation. If not, either
install Microsoft Office or alternatively install the READER versions as
outlined above.
